Beauty Makeover with Mary Wiles

Hello Beauties,

Earlier this month I had a pinch me moment when international makeup artist to the stars, Mary Wiles agreed to meet me for a beauty collaboration whilst on a visit to Sydney.

If you don't know Mary or her fabulous work then you're about too; her clients include the likes of Naomi Watts, Lea Seydoux, Julianne Moore, Sienna Miller, Kate Hudson, Kendall Jenner and Burberry beauties, Cara Delevigne and Suki Waterhouse to name but a few.  Details below to all of Mary's social media links - please go and show her some love!

On this occasion, I asked Mary to recreate one of my favourite beauty looks of 2015 - the makeup she did on Lea Seydoux for the James Bond - 'Spectre' world premiere in London. The makeup was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer in the film, Scarface - a 70's gold winged eye, glowing skin and a nude lip to complement, Lea's gorgeous gold and silver Prada gown.

PREP (an essential part to Mary's routine!)
Mary prepped my skin first by using Kelley Quan's Pocket Spa (a water based hydra-mist) followed by a moisturiser and facial massage (her go-to for skincare prep are products from Elemis and the classic Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate) to ensure optimal hydration and circulation as well as Lucas Papaw for my lips ready for the base to go on.

EYES

For this look, Mary started doing my eye makeup first. To begin, Mary applied MAC's 'Barre Study' all over my eyelid as a base and then blended and layered three Charlotte Tilbury 'Eyes to Mesmerise' cream eyeshadows in 'Marie Antoinette', 'Bette' and 'Jean' all over my eyelids.
Makeup Forever Aqua-Matic Glide-On Eye Shadow in 'ME-50 Metallic Golden Taupe' and Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in 'Chocolate Shimmer Ink' were used to create the extended feline flick and to finish off lashings of Burberry 'Bold Lash' Mascara.
For my eyebrows, Mary used Burberry Eye Definer in 'Ash Brown' 03 to fill and define.

BASE
After the eye makeup was done, Mary went on to the base and started with Burberry 'Fresh Glow' in 01 to prime my skin and add luminosity followed by, Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in 'Nude Honey' 02. For concealer, Mary used Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer and mixed two shades #20 and #30 under my eyes and to conceal any redness.

CONTOUR & HIGHLIGHT
Mary used Burberry Face Contour - 'Medium' 01 to contour my face and the Fresh Glow Stick - 'Nude Radiance' 01 to highlight.

CHEEKS
Burberry Kisses Lipstick in 'Rose Pink' #33 was patted on to the apples of my cheeks to create a natural blush.

LIPS
Mary used her secret weapon, Tom Ford's Lip Colour in 'Nude Blush' #13 - which is a-your-lips-but-better shade!

To finish off, Mary used NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper to remove any shine from my face (primarily across the t-zone) before applying a light dusting of Lancôme Translucent 01 Powder.

Et voila! When I got to see the final look I was so happy! Mary worked her magic and made me feel like a star! (and a Bond Girl :-)) - if I was allowed to sleep with my makeup on and not have to remove it I would have!

I loved every moment of the experience and am thankful to Mary for meeting me and making me up so beautifully!
