Favourite (May) Things
Here's a roundup of the beauty things plus a fashion favourite I was reaching out for in the month of May:
NARS Audacious Lipstick in 'Anita': This was a no hesitation online purchase last Christmas from the NARS online store purely because of the lipsticks name *insert smiley wink*. It's always a gamble purchasing lipsticks without swatching or trying them to see if they complement your skin tone but this gamble paid off! This lipstick is a gorgeous pink mauve shade which feels creamy on but the finish is slightly matte and stays put all day! I team this lipstick with MAC's Soar lip liner and together they are the perfect combination!
Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in 'Light': I absolutely love this concealer! It's purpose is to cover blemishes, post-acne marks, dark and sun spots plus treat the area so that marks and spots fade away over time. Its waterproof and lasts pretty much all day - this thing doesn't budge!
Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara: This is my go to mascara when I want a no-makeup makeup look because you can use it to add a little bit of separation to your lashes and is perfect for lower lashes as well. It's buildable so you can top up if you're taking your makeup from day to night.
Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in '80 Jersey': Chanel blushes are amazing and can last you a very long time (they are totally worth the investment). If you're looking to make your first Chanel blush purchase then I would highly recommend this particular one because it is universal. What I mean is that it complements a lot of different makeup looks especially lipsticks. You can use it with a red, nude or pink lip - it's really that versatile. I take this blush with me everywhere I go!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in 'Sin': Most eyeshadow primers are a flesh tone shade that are used as a base to conceal redness on eyelids and to prevent shadows from creasing. This primer does all of that but the bonus is that it's a gorgeous gold champagne shade. I've been wearing it on it's own all over my eyelid, adding a feline flick with lashings of mascara and because it's a primer it stays put and doesn't transfer my liquid liner to my eye crease by the end of the day.
Sophie Robertson Scarves: My gorgeous and talented friend, Sophie Robertson is the creative director behind her lovely silk scarves collection which is inspired by her photography and features underwater life that she has captured throughout her adventures. I've been wearing this scarf pretty much every day and goes with so many different outfits because of the beautiful colours throughout it. Her scarves are so versatile you can wear them all year round! If you're looking for a new scarf to add to your collection or a gift for someone then check out her website and online store - she ships internationally! www.sophierobertson.com
